Vital Records in Alaska

Vital records for the entire state of Alaska are handled by the Alaska Bureau of Vital Statistics, where they issue certified copies of birth, death, divorce & marriage records. Certified vital records can be requested in person at the State Department in Juneau, or in the Anchorage or Fairbanks offices. Birth records become public once they are 100 years old, which is for records prior to 1924. Deaths, marriages & divorces become public after 50 years, which is records prior to 1974.
