Vital Records in New Jersey

The government office responsible for maintaining vital records in New Jersey is the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services, where they issue certified copies of birth, death & marriage records. Divorce records can only be requested from the county office where the divorce occurred. In addition, records prior to 1913 must be requested from the county recorder's office.
